1. What does ProfitGuard's “true net profit” include?
True net profit = price − material cost − labor cost (at your hourly rate) − platform fees (Etsy listing + transaction + processing). Labor is the cost handmade sellers most often forget, and the one we care about most — it turns “I think I made money” into what you actually keep after your own time.
2. Is ProfitGuard financial or investment advice?
No. ProfitGuard is a cost-accounting and bookkeeping tool for your own use. It provides cost accounting and pricing references and does not constitute financial, investment, tax, or legal advice. “Price suggestions” are derived only from the costs you enter, promise no returns, and you should consult a professional for business decisions.
3. Do you connect to my bank account or Etsy shop?
No. For privacy and compliance, ProfitGuard connects to no bank / payment account aggregation (no Plaid). All cost / price / labor data is entered by you (with optional self-initiated order CSV / screenshot import in the future). We never touch your financial accounts.
4. Is my sales and cost data safe?
Your sales / cost data is sensitive business data. We enforce strict multi-tenant row-level security (FORCE RLS) and TLS encryption in transit. This data is used only to calculate your profit — never sold to third parties, never used to train any AI model.
5. Does ProfitGuard use AI? Where does my data go?
Only the “price suggestion” explanation text optionally uses AI for light polishing. The app asks for your consent first; after consent, only the cost / pricing context you entered is forwarded through our self-hosted server-side AI gateway — never your name or email. If AI fails it falls back to a template, and break-even / suggested-price numbers are always computed locally, independent of AI. See Privacy Policy section 3.
6. How do I cancel my subscription?
iOS: Settings → Apple ID → Subscriptions. Android: Play Store → Profile → Payments & subscriptions. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period; Pro stays usable until then.
7. Can I request a refund?
iOS: file at reportaproblem.apple.com. Android: open the order in Google Play. We honor Apple / Google's refund rules and do not double-charge.
8. How do I delete my account and all data?
App → Settings → Account → Delete account permanently removes all your SKUs, orders, and labor data. Recoverable for 30 days, then permanently erased from our servers.
